Youth Pastors Letter

Dear Friends,

In our last publication I told you about all the plans for our new youth area. After a lot of hard work, sweat, and fun, we officially opened our new space on Sunday April 20th. Check out our pictures. In the few weeks it has been opened, it has been well used.

With the coming summer and longer days, we would like to encourage you to tell the young people in your area, who may be hanging around with nothing to do, that there is a place they can come to on Friday and Saturday nights. We have pool, table-tennis, air-hockey, table-football, console games, indoor football, and indoor hockey. There is also music, a tuck-shop, and trips out; 10 pin bowling, wall climbing and swimming.

Our desire is to provide a place where every young person in this community will feel welcome and safe. Continue to pray for all our children’s and youth work; Thursday- Sparks 4-7 year-olds, Friday-LiveWires 7-11year-olds, GameZone 15-18 year-olds, Saturday- Rock Solid 11-14 year-olds, and Sunday- Crèche, KZone/Kids, Bible Class. And Discipleship groups during the week.

Two of our young men; Greg White and William Ayling assisted me in a couple of community projects during their school holidays. We were involved in cleaning up a yard and clearing out a loft. I
would just like to thank them both for being willing to help. It was much appreciated by those we helped.

Along with a couple of other church youth workers and the Managers of The Source Coffee/Bookshop in Lytham, we are piloting a combined informal time of worship, teaching, and fellowship for older teenagers aged 15 and above. The first meeting will take place at The Source on Sunday 25th May at 7.00pm. Initially, we are planning meeting monthly, but if the demand is there we will consider more often.

We believe that God is doing a miraculous thing at this time in this area. We have been praying for revival and I believe that God is bringing a group of Spirit-filled youth leaders/workers into
Lytham St. Annes for this important work with older teenagers and young adults. Please pray and ask God if this is an area where you could be involved in service. Talk with me for further information.

Please also be in prayer for our preparations for this year’s Holiday Bible Club. The date’s again for your diary are 11th-15th August.

I know that I will be losing some of our KZone and KZoneKids teachers this year. Please pray about becoming involved in this very important ministry. Please talk with me for further information.
