Rock for Haiti concert
Some of our young people were moved by the pictures coming out of Haiti and came up with the idea of forming a band and having a concert.
They got together, rehearsed some songs, produced publicity material, and put on a fantastic concert that was greatly appreciated by all those in attendance.
The event was well supported by those who came; tickets, refreshments, and donations. And also members of the church who donated money for the cause.
The total raised from the event was £330.15. This money will be added to the donations received from the church family and forwarded to Compassion.
We chose Compassion, out of the many requests for assistance, because our youth-group and some members from church already support children through Compassion, with two of the supported children from Haiti itself.
