Statement
Please note, this is not a doctrinal basis, nor is it a statement of faith, it is a summary of the vision that we believe that God has for his people here at St Annes Baptist Church.
We have a vision...
...where we, the family of God’s people of St. Annes Baptist…. |
...live out our faith seven days a week, in true submission to Christ’s Lordship;
...each pursue a life of holiness through repentance, obedience to His Word, faithful prayer and time spent individually seeking the heart of God through His Word; |

...each acknowledge that throughout our lives we must continue to learn how to be more like Jesus;
...run discipleship programmes that are made for the people, and not vice-versa, taking account of where individuals are in their personal walks, through a variety of tailored methods (eg bible study classes, koinos group studies, one-on-one mentoring etc.)
...encourage our brothers and sisters in their own walks, teaching and leading by example; |

...are hallmarked by the love we show to each other - supporting, caring and praying for each other - looking out for each other and acting where we see need;
...accept each other, forgive each other, and bear each other’s burdens;
...seek to develop unity, by regularly meeting together for fellowship and to worship God corporately;
...are encouraged to meet with God during corporate worship, and express our worship freely;
...think less of tradition and ritual, and more of a personal and relevant outworking of our living relationship with Jesus; |

...give of our time, energies, finance, and the gifts God has given us to serve the whole church family;
...use the buildings and facilities we have been given stewardship over to the best of their advantage - adapting and modernising them to meet the needs of the various ministries God is working through in a changing world; |

...are unashamed to own Jesus as our Lord and Saviour amongst our unbelieving friends;
...each seeks to ‘be Jesus’ to our unbelieving friends, praying earnestly that the Holy Spirit will work in them, and bring them to a knowledge of Christ and his gospel;
...reach out into the community corporately, showing God’s love in practical ways, identifying and meeting needs of those outside the church family.
...seek new methods to present the unchanging gospel of Christ to the local community in a way that is relevant and contemporary;
...identify those amongst us whom God has called into full-time ministry, praying and supporting them throughout training and field work, whether locally, nationally or internationally; |
We trust you experience God’s encouragement, equipping and empowering for action as we all seek ways to work out this vision together for His glory.
